Project Highlights

SIDE GROUP GAMES - Social Media Content Creator & Coordinator
I've met the owner of Side Group Games through the Game Informer Magazine community. Based in Oregon, the company is an independent game developer and software developer. I've offered to help increase the visibility of Side Group Games' projects by increasing activity on Twitter.com. Tweetdeck is used to create and plan out tweets on a week-by-week basis. Trending hashtags are utilized in order to increase social media visibility, as well as setting up temporary partnerships for cross-promotion opportunities. The goal is to maximize social media impressions and direct online traffic to the company's newly launched website. From October - November 2019, Side Group has successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign, reaching 124% of its goal.

CNY COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER - PR Consultant & Team Leader
Part of the Capstone course required to obtain my BA: Public Relations at SUNY Oswego, I lead a team of four in working with the CNY Community Arts Center as a client. Our client's concerns dealt with creating programs and finding low-cost and effective advertising for their upcoming youth art program. Some stigmas we were asked to address was the disconnect between the cities of Fulton and Oswego, NY, encouraging monetary support from Fulton parents of art programs, and a lack of long-term volunteers. Two months were dedicated to primary and secondary research, including in-depth interviews, a focus group interview, and the creation and distribution of a survey. Promotional materials were created for the upcoming youth program, as well as materials to set up an internship program between the arts center and SUNY Oswego.

GAME INFORMER MAGAZINE - Convention Organizer & Community Leader
All work with Game Informer Magazine was strictly volunteer using my personal off-time. While the magazine is based in Minneapolis, MN, a majority of the work was completed through Facebook, e-mail, phone, and conference calls. Being a part of the online Game Informer Community on Facebook, I noticed a need among fans for an annual meet-up with editors from the magazine. The initial research was conducted by talking to another fan who had previously attempted to set up a meet-up for fans before further research into locations, costs, and events that fans wanted to see and experience with the magazine occurred. A proposal was written and sent to Game Informer, followed by various meetings with potential partners. To save on costs, Game Informer had partnered with existing conventions held by the two non-profit organizations, GlitchGaming and 2DCon. A total of four events were coordinated between the two conventions, where fans got to meet editors, tour the office, attend panels about the gaming and journalism industry, and participate in a live showing of Game Informer's popular online show, "Replay".
